Black Summers' Night

Product Description 1 CD with 9 new tracks in a jewel box with a four-panel insert. BLACKsummers'night is the heavily anticipated new studio album from groundbreaking modern soul artist Maxwell. BLACKsummers'night is the first full-length Maxwell release since Now, his critically-acclaimed third studio album, debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 in August 2001. This album is the sensuous opening installment of the artist's monumental BLACKSUMMERS'NIGHT trilogy. Striving for an emotional authenticity and real world sound for the album, the entire album was recorded live in the studio with an a-list ensemble of elegantly sympathetic musicians. Review "If leadoff single 'Pretty Wings',is any indication [of what is to come] we'll be waiting impatiently for each and every update." -- Time Out New York, May 21-27,2009 "The Brooklyn-born singer croons a heartbreaking ode to letting go of a relationship. It's a gorgeous ballad that ushers in a long-overdue welcome return to one of R&B's most talented and original artists." -- Billboard May 30,2009 "The neo-soul star returns with "Pretty Wings",a lovely ballad that showcases his fluttery falsetto." -- People, May 25,2009
