Dying to Be Me

Batya Sherizen prided herself on being a powerhouse. She was a successful entrepreneur and a devoted mother of five. But when, at thirty-four years old, she was diagnosed with a life-threatening condition, she knew she needed to shed her superwoman persona and rediscover her inner self. She learned to see her many months on bed rest, multiple hospital scares, and ultimately a near-death experience and long recovery, all as a precious gift, pushing her into a better version of herself. Dying to Be Me is not a birth story, nor is it a near-death experience book. It is an eye-opening memoir about self-acceptance, love, and embracing the present. Batya’s harrowing ordeal redefined her priorities. Once she nearly died, she learned how to truly live, in a way most of us don’t realize is possible.
