Romantic Comedy Collection 4-Movie Pack

A special collection of 4 romantic comedies featuring all-star casts and the best of British humor. To Paris with Love (1954): Alec Guinness plays Sir Edgar Fraser, a widowed Scottish aristocrat who decides that it is time to introduce his 20-year-old son to the opposite sex. This, he decides, must be done in Paris, the most romantic city in the world. So off they go, and Sir Edgar is determined to find a beautiful, spirited girl for his son. This he does, but complications arise when he finds himself falling for her. Matters become even more tangled when his son falls in love with the woman he has found for his father. The Captains Table (1959): When the South Star liner Queen Adelaide sails from Tilbury bound for Australia, Captain Albert Ebbs is a happy man. After years in cargo vessels, he has finally been given command of a luxury liner. Unfortunately, for him, he has a First Officer more concerned with women than running the ship, and his Chief Purser is doing a roaring trade in smuggling the ships supplies. You Know What Sailors Are (1954): The best of British humor is on display in this satirical cold war romp! Donald Sinden plays Lieutenant Green, a radar expert in the Royal Navy. One night, whilst under the influence of alcohol, he welds an old pram to the deck of a foreign destroyer for a joke. The next morning, British Intelligence is desperate to know what the enemys new weapon is. To cover his tracks, Green calls it the 998. When he is posted to the destroyer to explain about radar techniques, Green soon realizes that his prank has gone too far. Upstairs and Downstairs (1959): Richard Barrie (Michael Craig) and wife Kate (Anne Heywood) are a pair of newlyweds. Kates father, and Richards boss, Mansfield (James Robertson Justice) insists that the couple take on domestic help in order to continue entertaining his rich clients. Who would have thought that finding help would be so much fun! A man crazy Italian beauty, a stumbling alcoholic maid with a sheepdog and even a retired elderly couple bent on robbing a local bank make up just the beginning of the quest. The circus of a search continues until Swedish beauty Ingrid (Mylene Demongeot) enters the Barrie household. Her domestic abilities are spectacular and when Ingrid arrives at the party in her blue dress, well, lets just say thats when the fun really begins. Watch for appearances from Claudia Cardinale and Joan Hixson.
